Medical Associates is looking for a part-time Mailroom Clerk to join our Distribution team! 

Schedule/Hours:
The schedule for this position is a rotation of 5 days on and 5 days off, working 7:30am - 4:30pm. The 5 on 5 off is Thursday, Friday, and the following Monday-Wednesday.

1500 Associates Drive, Dubuque, IA 52002

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Sort, weigh, and post outgoing USPS mail, UPS, FedEx & USPS parcels according to established rates and clinic policy.       
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail and faxes to all locations.                         
  • Compare and complete cost evaluations between shipping vendors for best pricing practices.
  • Act in relief capacity for Distribution Courier.                                       
  • Assemble and process bulk mailings for all Medical Associates entities                                   
  • Arrange conference room furniture as desired by requester             
  • Complete all other assigned projects and duties. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Experience: From three months to one year of similar or related experience.

Education: Equivalent to a high school education.

Interpersonal Skills: Normal courtesy in dealing with others is required. Work involves minimal contacts, usually within the organization. Contact usually involving routine, non-sensitive issues.

Other Skills: Operate/maintain mailroom equipment and knowledge of current postal regulations and requirements.
                                                                 


Physical Aspects:

Stooping - Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.

Reaching - Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Pushing - Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.

Pulling - Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

Lifting - Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.

Fingering - Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.

Grasping - Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

Feeling - Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.

Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.

Hearing - Perceiving the nature of sound with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.

Vision - 20 / 40 or better in the best eye with or without correction.

Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 pounds force constantly to move objects.
